Spanning portions of Juneau and Adams Counties, Castle Rock Lake offers a whole lot of water to explore. Walleye are one of the fish most commonly associated with the Castle Rock Lake and Wisconsin River system. Anglers also target largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike and a variety of panfish.
Different areas of the lake offer different structure, depths and conditions, so fishing Castle Rock isn't necessarily about finding one magical spot and returning to it forever.

One of our favorite things about Castle Rock Lake is that you don't necessarily need to be a hardcore angler to enjoy fishing here.
Sometimes it's about heading out for a few hours after work.
Sometimes it's taking the kids or grandkids out and hoping somebody catches anything.
And sometimes it's sitting on the boat at sunset saying:
"One more cast."
Then saying it again 20 minutes later.
That's Castle Rock Lake.

Castle Rock isn't a tiny inland lake where you make a quick lap and you've seen everything.
The size of the lake is part of the experience. There are shorelines to explore, different areas to fish, places to boat and plenty of opportunities to simply shut off the motor and enjoy being on the water.
As evening approaches, the lake can put on quite a show.
Wisconsin sunsets reflecting across open water are pretty hard to beat — especially when there's still a fishing pole hanging off the side of the boat.
